This practical module is intended for students in the 1st year of the common base. The Chemistry I practical work module gives students an introduction to safety measures in the laboratory and provides them with the basic understanding of reactions in aqueous solution, by identifying acid-base and oxidation-reduction reactions.

These practical work sessions are intended for students in the 1st year Common Base. The Chemistry I practical work module consists of five manipulations:

  1. Manipulation N°1 : General chemistry (Safety and glassware).
  2. Manipulation N°2 : Preparation of solutions.
  3. Manipulation N°3 : Titration colorimetric strong acid by strong base.
  4. Manipulation N°4 : Redox titration.
  5. Manipulation N°5 : Titration of Vinegar.
Finally, in order to evaluate the knowledge acquired by the students, comprehension questions are proposed towards the end of each activity to enable the students to assess and evaluate themselves.
