Students of English have to deal with the sociolinguistics module since it is of paramount importance to them. After they understand what is language as a system of rules including; language levels, language skills, language functions, etc., They have to explore other factors affecting language use beyond such a self-contained system. The focus shift from seeing language as a system of rules to a means of communication led educators to look for other factors that affect language use in its natural setting.
