Topic outline

  • Overview

This module offers students an exposure to critical terminology and jargons involved in literary studies.  Its goal is to introduce and practice a wide range of literary theories. This course also aims to give students the opportunity to explore major writings, technical vocabulary, and methods, as well as analytic tools that can not only show them the world and themselves through new and valuable lenses, but also strengthen their ability to think logically, creatively, and with a lot of insight.

To that purpose, each chapter will clarify the fundamental concepts of the theory it discusses, allowing you to read what the theorists have written themselves. Each chapter will focus on a critical theory that has had a significant impact on contemporary literary criticism and will seek to depict the world through the perspective of that theory.
