  • Generalities

    This course is designed for first-year students of Master's Degree in Computer Science. It is an ESP (English for Specific Purpose) course in an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) context. The English for Computing covers ten chapters for both semesters. Each chapter introduces students to different topics of Computer Science through the four skills: Speaking, Reading, Listening, and Writing. Grammar and vocabulary are given special focus, and the variety of exercises and activities fosters the learning of Computing English progressively. The use of a humanistic and communicative approach also allows the students to develop additional skills such as teamwork and auto-evaluation.
